Day of the Religious - 2017

St Sebastian Church, in its Centenary Jubilee program, ‘Adarsh Permannur’ celebrated the ‘Religious Day- 2017’ on 29th October 2017 at St Sebastian Church Ground. At 6:00 pm the Stage programme untied its curtain. On the dais Very Rev. Fr J. B.Saldanha Parish Priest as a president of the programme, Rev Fr Stany B.Lobo, Rev. Fr Herald C. D’Souza, Rev. Fr Peter Serrao (Former parish Priests of Parish), Mr Richard Alvaries, Chief guest, Very Rev Fr Joseph Martis, Rev Fr Peter Noronha, Rev Fr Denzil Lobo S.J., Rev Fr Valerian, Rev Fr Edwin Mascarenhas Principal P.U. College, Rev Sr Carmine Misquith BS, Superior Bethel Convent, Rev Sr Emma Joseph Superior, Nirmala Convent, Rev Sr Benny Barretto, Superior Aloysius Convent, all former and present Assistant Parish Priests,  Mr Melwyn C. D’Souza Vice-president and Mr Ronald Fernandes president Adarsh Permannur, Mr Demetrius D’Souza Centenary Jubilee Committee.

 
This Special day Witnessed honoring former Parish Priests, Assistants, Heads of the Educational Institutions, Religious from Permannur Parish, religious from the 3 convents of  our parish, St Joseph Vaz Deanery Priests and religious, Mr Ivan D’Souza (Co-Sponsor) and special guests were honoured.  Chief Guest Mr Richard Alvaries Spoke about need of Religious in todays world. Mr Melwin C. D’Souza Spoke about importance of religious. Former Parish priests responded for the honour and thanked the organizers for their love towards them. President Rev Dr J.B. Saldanha spoke and thanked all for accepting the invitation.    

 This Programme began with Procession of religious men and women , followed by Prayer Dance by St Sebastian English Medium School, Welcome Dance by Holy Angels School. Mr Ronald Fernandez welcomed the Gathering, Mr Dolphy D’Sa thanked and Mr Joslin D’Souze compared the event. As a part of the programme there was religious play named ‘Pedru’. This  programme was witnessed by many religious as well as thousands parishioners.  Whole event was organized by Adarsh Permannur Association.
